History

On November 8, 1904 a group of farmers banded together to create the Farmers Elevator Company, now known as Colton Farmers Elevator.  There have been ups and downs during the last 114 years of business, but the elevator has been able to make it through every challenge thanks to the loyalty of its patrons.  From the 1920s when patrons stepped up to finance the elevator through difficult financial times to rebuilding after the fire in 1968 to the current market turmoil, patrons have stood by the Colton Farmers Elevator as it grew and evolved in order to provide the best service possible for over a century.  We hope to carry on this pattern of growth and excellence into the next century and thank our patrons for their continued support.

Most recently, Colton Farmers Elevator and Hartford Farmers Elevator merged October 2018. The new company is Valley Central Coop.
